Aston Health Research and Innovation Cluster
The Focus for Health-Related Research at Aston University.
Aston Health Research and Innovation Cluster (AHRIC) promotes, supports and develops research across the Aston Schools. Its aims are to:
- Facilitate interdisciplinary research that transcends schools and subject areas within Aston;
- Provide excellent networking opportunities for researchers and clinicians to connect and extend their mutual research interests;
- Encourage pooling and sharing of research expertise and specialist resources (e.g. ethics procedures and documents).
- Establish and coordinate strategic research programmes within the University and with healthcare organisations.
I hope some of you will be interested in attending this year's Primhe conference on
the 23rd September at the University of Warwick.
We are fortunate to have John Seddon whose speciality is lean management in the
public sector and who challenges what he calls the current command and control
system of management of the Health Service. He states that targets are
counter-productive and lead to a culture where lying and bullying becomes rife. He
